What does a Bridger Bowl season cost if you buy it on Sunday, November 1, instead of the day before?
For one adult Full Season Pass, it costs $150 more. The price is $1,100 now and $1,250 starting Nov. 1. For a family buying online, the gap is bigger, because Bridger's 12% family discount on Full and Value passes ends October 31, 2026. Bridger projects opening day for December 11, 2026. That leaves about six weeks between the price change and the first chair. The snow will arrive whenever it arrives. The prices change on fixed dates, and most of them fall between mid-October and the second weekend of November.
Taken one at a time, each deadline is small. They make more sense on one calendar, because several of them affect each other.
What the last weekend of October is worth
Here are the adult prices on Bridger Bowl's 2026/27 season pass page, with the current tier set against the Nov. 1 tier:
| Adult pass | Price now, since Aug. 1 | Starting Nov. 1 | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full Season, ages 25–69 | $1,100 | $1,250 | $150 |
| Value, ages 19–69 | $925 | $1,050 | $125 |
| Midweek, ages 19–69 | $570 | $620 | $50 |
The family discount is where the numbers get bigger. It takes 12% off Full and Value passes for up to two adults plus juniors and children. It applies automatically at checkout when you buy online, it's for parents or legal guardians, and it doesn't cover Senior, Midweek, Young Adult or Preschool passes.
Take a household of two adults, one junior and one child, all on Value passes. At current prices that's $925, $925, $420 and $265, for $2,535. With the 12% discount, it comes to about $2,231. Starting Nov. 1, the same four passes cost $1,050, $1,050, $445 and $320. That's $2,865, and the discount is gone by then. The difference is roughly $634 for the same family and the same mountain, a few hours apart.
A Value pass comes with blackout dates. It doesn't work December 26, 2026 through January 1, 2027, January 16–18, or February 13–15. If your family skis those holiday weekends, you'll need to weigh that against the savings. Bridger offers a payment plan, and season passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Two film nights, and a free day on the hill between them
Most people make that pass decision in the second half of October, and town has a few good evenings for talking it over.
On Friday, October 16, the Quality Ski Time Film Tour plays the Emerson's Crawford Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7, and general admission is $15. It's several films in one night, including Blank Patterns, Places and Almost Alone in the Alps.
The next day, Saturday, October 17, Bridger Bowl holds its Bridger Bowl Bash from noon to 6 p.m. at the Jim Bridger and Saddle Peak Lodges. It's free and open to the public, with live music, food and drinks, ski clothing repair, a season pass raffle and activities for all ages. The Bash also falls two weeks before the Nov. 1 price change, so you can walk the base area while the lower prices still apply.
Two weeks later, on Friday, October 30, Warren Miller's Days Off comes to The ELM with shows at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., according to the Warren Miller events calendar. That's the night before the family discount ends. If you have kids, it's also Downtown Bozeman Trick-or-Treating. More than 100 businesses take part from 4 to 6 p.m., and Main Street closes between Grand and Church from about 3 to 7 p.m. If you're juggling both, the later screening is the easier fit.
The clothing swap is free in October, and the gear swap sells in November
The Bash includes a ski clothing swap. Bring new or gently used jackets, bibs, pants, gloves and goggles in adult or child sizes to donate, or take what you need. Bridger is clear that it's a swap and donation event, and nothing is priced for sale.
The hard goods come three weeks later. The BSF Ski Swap runs November 7–8 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. The Bridger Ski Foundation calls it 58 years of buying and selling winter gear, with more than 10,000 items covering alpine, Nordic, snowboard and backcountry equipment. So you can sort out outerwear for free on Oct. 17 and leave skis and boots for the Fairgrounds.
If you're selling, the swap has its own deadlines:
- Register online by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, November 3. Registration started Oct. 1 and costs $1 per item, and your tags will be pre-printed. After the deadline it's $3 per item.
- Drop off on Friday, November 6, at Building 2. Items registered on time can come in from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Late registrations have to wait until 1 p.m. Fees are paid in cash at drop-off.
- Choose a Sunday discount if you want one. You can set an item to drop 10%, 25% or 50% for all of Sunday.
- Pick up unsold items Sunday, November 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Building 1. Anything left after 5 p.m. stays with BSF, and Big Sky Youth Empowerment gets first pick of those donations.
When an item sells, BSF keeps a 25% consignment fee and mails you a check for the rest, usually within a few weeks.
The trail pass that gets you in an hour early
This is the deadline that ties into the others. Public doors at the BSF Ski Swap open at 10 a.m. Saturday. BSF members and BSF trail pass holders get in at 9 a.m., and trail pass holders who volunteer get in at 8 a.m. For a family hunting junior boots, that extra hour matters.
The BSF 2026–27 trail pass costs $90 for an individual or $180 for a family. Those prices go up in the last week of October. BSF's own pages don't agree on the exact day. The swap page says Oct. 27, and the trail pass page says the early-bird price runs through Oct. 25. If you're going by the earliest date, that's Sunday the 25th. A general BSF membership, $50 individual or $100 family, also gets you in at 9 a.m. The trail pass gets you the same early entry and supports grooming too.
The pass is voluntary, and BSF says the trails are open to everyone. The money pays for more than 80 kilometers of winter trails at seven locations. They are Bridger Creek Golf Course, Sunset Hills (formerly Lindley), Highland Glen, Bozeman Creek/Sourdough Canyon, Hyalite Canyon, which the U.S. Forest Service mainly grooms, and 1-kilometer loops at Sacajawea and Chief Joseph middle schools. In its 2024–25 annual report, BSF listed Sunset Hills at 6.5 km with snowmaking. It also described a rerouted Highland Glen multi-use route, connected to Peet's Hill and called the "Winter Ramble," that welcomes walkers, bikes, leashed dogs and skiers. Those figures are from the 2024–25 season, but they're the most recent detailed numbers BSF has published.
BSF also has a new home this season. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported on its 3,200-square-foot headquarters, which held its grand opening on Aug. 26. Nearly 400 donors and more than 40 local businesses helped pay for the $3 million project.
After November 8, the next date is the first chair
Once the swap closes, nothing else on the calendar comes with a price change attached. Bridger's winter shuttle runs from December 11, 2026 to April 11, 2027. It picks up at the roundabout in front of the Strand Union Building at MSU and at a new Bridger Bowl Park N Ride midway through the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, across from the Gallatin County Extension Office. That's the same Fairgrounds you'll have visited for the swap a month earlier. On a midweek day, the first bus leaves the Tamarack Street entrance at 8:30 a.m.
If you drive, parking at the mountain is free and first-come, first-served, with lot shuttles on weekends and holidays. Lot A is held for cars with three or more people, ski school youth program participants and skiers with a disability.
Bridger says the Dec. 11 date is a projection, and the mountain will open when there's enough snow. Every deadline above is a fixed date, and the first one comes in about two weeks.
I'm based up the canyon in Big Sky, but I follow the Bozeman ski calendar as closely as the one at home, because so many of my clients ski both. If you want help sorting out which of these dates matter for your household, or you'd like a local's take on Gallatin Valley winters, Callie Pecunies is happy to talk it through. A personalized Big Sky market valuation is always available too.
