The dark Montana skies are the perfect place to stargaze, but when the Northern Lights make an appearance, it's even better! This photo was taken on November 11th by my photographer husband, Dave. He had just sat down to relax before bedtime when he began getting notifications that the Aurora was getting strong. So naturally, as photographers do, he headed out into the night to see what he could capture and it didn't disappoint. Hopefully many of you in other parts of the country were as lucky to see the show!
We are just a day away from Big Sky Resort's opening day, November 26th. We have had unseasonably warm and dry conditions and we desperately need snow, but thanks to the snowmaking upgrades the resort has focused on in recent years, they made a lot of manmade snow early and have been hosting numerous ski race training teams on three full length trails off Ramcharger lift since November 15th.
While there were rumors that they could decide to delay the opening, they have committed to moving ahead tomorrow with over 100 acres of skiing.
The photo to the left is Open Snow's prediction of the snowfall at Big Sky Resort for the next 10+ days. While it doesn't look like much, the accumulation over days gives us hope that the weather trends are changing! ⛷️❄️
The real estate market continues to slowly pick up steam, a trend started in August. While the "on-paper" changes aren't significant compared to last year at this time, we also gauge what's upcoming based on what we hear from our Buyers and Sellers. The slight increase in new listing inventory over the past few months has been just what some Buyers needed to make a decision to move forward. If we continue to see the inventory climb, the winter selling season looks promising.
Q: Do you know the busiest day of the year for online real estate searches?
A: January 1. Evidence suggests that people are looking ahead to life changes in the new year, and are often home on New Year's Day, causing a surge in online searches.
While in many markets winter is not the time for sales to increase, in Big Sky we follow a different trend. Our properties sell when visitors are here. That means December-April is a great time to get your property seen. If you've considered selling, now is a great time to call me to discuss so you can take advantage of our winter selling season and get it listed before the holidays!
