Experience Big Sky | September 2025

I apologize for the delay in getting September's news out to you, I was preoccupied in September with getting our oldest off to his first year of college! You may be thinking I have the months wrong since most college students started in August, but University of Oregon is on a quarter system which means they don't start until late September. We road-tripped him to Eugene with a fun stop in Bend along the way for some good food, a mountain bike ride, and a tour of Oregon State University's Cascades campus. Once in Eugene, he had a successful move-in to his dorm, introduction to his roommate, and he's now halfway through his first week of classes. The school did an impressive job of welcoming all the new students and organizing the class of 2029 into the "O" in the photo above! We are beyond proud of him and excited for what's to come. Go Ducks!😊

In Big Sky real estate news, we saw a surge of Buyer activity late summer resulting in an increase in new contracts in August and closings in September compared to the previous months. More on that will be available in next month's update. Prices in most segments of the market appear to be leveling out, and with the number of buyers on the sidelines who are starting to make offers, we are optimistic about the market in the next six months.

Many of the snow predictions look very favorable to our region of Montana this season, including from Open Snow (below), so excitement is starting to build! ❄️ Big Sky Resort has scheduled the opening of both the Kircliff observation deck at the top of the tram and the new Explorer Gondola before Christmas. Check out their website to follow along with the progress. We had a brief bout of snowfall mid-September at the higher elevations (followed by temps in the low 80s) that has us looking forward to opening day on November 26th. There is still time to purchase a Big Sky Resort season pass with more options than ever based on how many days you think you'll ski, and the new unlimited tram access add-on for any pass. If the Ikon Pass is more your style, be sure to purchase yours before their next price deadline of October 9th.
See you on the slopes! ⛷️
