Where do you get a morning coffee in the Meadow today, Thursday, Nov. 5? Cowboy Coffee is closed through Saturday. Hero Snow Coffee is closed through next Monday, and The Waypoint has gone dark for its own week. With all three closures overlapping, the first full week of November is the thinnest one on the Meadow's calendar.
The good news is in the dates. The businesses in Town Center and Meadow Village Center close in turns. When one coffee counter shuts, another stays open, and a short list of kitchens keeps the lights on every night of the month. The one gap that won't close on its own runs past Big Sky Resort's opening day on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Several of the Meadow's sit-down dinner spots don't come back until December, so the first week of ski season starts with fewer dining rooms than the lifts will draw.
Everything below comes from Visit Big Sky's 2026 Fall Dining Guide, the Big Sky Town Center November calendar and the venues' own pages. Shoulder-season hours change quickly, so call ahead before you drive over.
This week, mornings run through fewer counters
The Fall Dining Guide shows the coffee closures overlapping, one after another:
- Cowboy Coffee is closed Nov. 1 through Nov. 7. The rest of October and November it's open every day, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with music on Wednesdays.
- Hero Snow Coffee in Meadow Village Center is closed Nov. 2 through Nov. 9. It's closed again Nov. 23 through Nov. 29. In between, it serves weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
- Unravel Coffee at Gravity Haus takes its break later, closing Nov. 9 through Nov. 23.
- Caliber Coffee doesn't close in November at all. It's listed Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As the dates fall, Unravel covers this week while Cowboy Coffee and Hero Snow are closed. Unravel closes on Nov. 9, the last day of Hero Snow's break, so Hero Snow is back the next morning, and Cowboy Coffee is already open again by then. Caliber is open through every one of those changes. For a pastry instead of a pour-over, Blue Moon Bakery is listed every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The grocery counters fill in the early hours. Country Market in Meadow Village Center opens at 6:30 a.m. every day and runs until 8 p.m. Hungry Moose Market & Deli also opens at 6:30 a.m. and stays open until 9 p.m. Roxy's Market runs 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Dinner comes from a short list, and it holds all month
Lunch is light right now. The Wrap Shack has been closed since Oct. 23 and plans to reopen in mid-November, with no exact day posted. Gourmet Gals' fall weekday hours ended Oct. 30. BYWOM is still serving weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Terrain Tacos at Gravity Haus is open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Dinner is steadier than lunch. For the rest of November, these Town Center kitchens are listed with hours that don't break for a closure week:
| Where | Listed fall hours |
|---|---|
| Beehive Basin Brewery | Every day, noon to 10 p.m. |
| Terrain Tacos at Gravity Haus | Every day, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. |
| Pinky G's Pizzeria | Every day, noon to 8 p.m. |
| The Rocks Tasting Room | Every day, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Thai Basil | Monday through Saturday, noon to 9 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. |
| Ousel and Spur | Every day, 5 p.m. to close |
| Block 3 | Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 9 p.m. |
| The Wilson Lobby Bar | Every day from 3 p.m.; food service Sunday and Monday |
The guide recommends reservations at Block 3 and Ousel and Spur. That matters more in November than in summer, because fewer dining rooms are splitting the same weeknight crowd. Tips Up rounds out the evening options. It's open Monday and Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to close on weekends.
The Waypoint is the one regular dinner stop with a November break, closed Nov. 3 through Nov. 10. Its usual fall schedule is Wednesday through Monday, 5 to 10 p.m., closed Tuesdays.
Four sit-down kitchens reopen after the lifts do
Big Sky Resort has set opening day for the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Mountain Village. Several of the Meadow's longest-closed restaurants come back on their own schedule over the following two weeks.
| Restaurant | Listed closure | Back in service |
|---|---|---|
| Scoops | Sept. 23 through Nov. 27 | After Thanksgiving weekend begins |
| Big Sky Noodles | Sept. 27 through Dec. 2 | Early December |
| Alberto's | Oct. 24 through Dec. 4 | Early December |
| Olive B's | Oct. 16 through Dec. 7 | Second week of December |
| Michaelangelo's Ristorante | Closed for the season | Thursday, Dec. 10 |
Michaelangelo's is the one date with two versions. The Fall Dining Guide prints Dec. 9, and the restaurant's reservation page says it reopens Thursday, Dec. 10. I'd go with the restaurant's own page and confirm before you book an anniversary around it.
Two of those, Olive B's and Michaelangelo's, are the Meadow Village Center dinner rooms. So for the first two weeks of the ski season, a Meadow-side dinner out means driving over to Town Center. Hero Snow's second break, Nov. 23 through Nov. 29, overlaps opening week too. Country Market will be the morning stop on the Meadow Village Center side that week.
The calendar fills the gaps, starting tonight
The quiet weeks still have a calendar. Most of it lands after Nov. 10, once The Waypoint and the closed coffee counters are back in service.
Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6. Big Sky Community Theater stages "Doublewide, Texas" at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center. Both shows start at 7 p.m., as Explore Big Sky reported on Oct. 27. On Thursday nights, DJ Swampmoose plays house and techno at the Drunken Monk from 10 p.m. to close. It's free and 21 and over.
Saturday, Nov. 7. Tips Up starts its November live-music nights, 8 to 10 p.m. More follow on Nov. 14, 20, 21 and 28.
Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Big Sky Community Organization hosts its Veterans Day Breakfast at BASE from 8 to 10 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 13. The Waypoint and the American Legion run bingo from 5 to 8 p.m., with early bird games around 5:30. They repeat it Friday, Nov. 20. That same evening, Block 3 hosts a wine dinner with Purple Hands and L'Ecole No. 41 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 15. Guitarist Luca Stricagnoli plays the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center at 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 18. BASE is the drop-off point for the Big Sky Coat & Boot Drive, 4 to 6 p.m.
Thanksgiving week runs on resort time
Opening day and the holiday sit back to back this year. The Explore Big Sky events calendar lists free trivia at The Waypoint on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m., the evening of the resort's opening day. The Town Center calendar shows The Waypoint closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, and the Drunken Monk's DJ night still on at 10 p.m.
The Waypoint reopens the next night for three screenings of Warren Miller's "Days Off," Nov. 27 through Nov. 29, each from 6 to 10 p.m. Scoops is back that same weekend, since its listed closure ends Nov. 27. The reopenings then roll through the first two weeks of December: Big Sky Noodles, then Alberto's, then Olive B's, then Michaelangelo's on Dec. 10.
I keep a running list of which Meadow kitchens and coffee counters are open each week of shoulder season, and I'm happy to send it along with a note on what's coming back first.
