Big Sky Mountain Village is the area that surrounds the base of Lone Mountain. It is also home to Big Sky Resort, a public Ski and Summer Resort located six miles from the Meadow Village. The average snow fall is about 400 inches of light, dry "champagne" powder. Big Sky Resort does an amazing job of keeping both powder hounds and those who prefer groomed slopes happy on 5,850 acres of skiable terrain. Over the years, developments in Beehive Basin, and Cascade Ridge have also become grouped into the Mountain Village.
The Mountain Village is the area closest to Big Sky Resort and has the highest concentration of condominiums in Big Sky, several of which have existed in some form since the resort’s inception in the early 1970’s. The iconic Mountain Village operates as the ski area’s hub of activity and nightlife. Amenities include world class alpine skiing, including more than 250 named runs covering over 85 miles on three separate mountains and a tram- accessible 11,166 foot peak, heated outdoor pools, hotels, and a variety of on-mountain summer activities including downhill mountain biking, skeet shooting, disc golf and zip lines. New construction options include ski-in/ski-out homes and condos.
